When a busy facility needed to completely overhaul its deteriorating 300sqm asphalt carpark and driveway, minimizing operational downtime was the primary directive. Our team stepped in to manage the complex civil project from end to end, strategically scheduling the heavy works over the Easter holiday period to ensure the center experienced little to no disruption.
The scope required a complete structural transformation. In the first two days alone, our teams efficiently excavated and disposed of over 125 tonnes of spoils from the site. To ensure the new surface could effortlessly withstand continuous heavy vehicle and truck traffic, we installed robust steel reinforcing paired with a high-strength 150mm thick, 32MPa concrete slab. The project was rounded out with a comprehensive civil finish, including the supply and installation of integrated drainage systems, concrete kerbing, speed bumps, and high-visibility linemarking.
Executing large-scale civil works in a confined footprint is challenging enough, but this project was further complicated by its immediate surroundings – a dense, quiet residential neighbourhood. Navigating this required meticulous logistics and stakeholder management. Our team proactively managed traffic control to keep local roads safe and seamlessly secured council permits to allow for extended, after-hours operational windows.
Despite encountering a window of poor weather, our crews pushed through around the clock. Originally slated as a 12-day project, our seamless project management and relentless work ethic allowed us to deliver the fully completed, compliant, and ready-to-use asset in just 11 days.
